Oak Tree Old Town Apartments

Everything was great

Pros: It is clean, great coffee machine, no noisy neighbors.

Cons: Living room to bedroom door was not locking

Ideal for the Fit and Healthy Backpack Traveler

Pros: The apartment was spotlessly clean. Bed and pillow comfortable. Very quiet ( no noise from outside and very little within the block ). Handy having a fridge, sink, cutlery and crockery ( although I only used one cup and a teaspoon ) and washing up liquid / sponge. TV excellent. Shower nice and simple to use and very good. The boiled sweets outside the room and tea bags were also very nice. ( I did not use the coffee machine but that too is very good for other people staying here ). The apartment is very handy for nearby restaurants and the old town. The Full English Breakfast at Paul's Place was one of the best I've ever had. Thank you. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Cons: My main problem is to do with the internet. I do NOT use it when away. The email sent to me in how to get into the room was sent after I had left home for the airport. I was expecting someone to be at reception but clearly this wasn't the case. It took me approximately 90 minutes to get into the room. I asked a young girl working at the takeaway restaurant on the corner if she could help and I believe she sent a text message. I did then receive a text message but the code number for the keylock just said ----- which again wasn't helpful. My wife in England who doesn't use computers eventually retrieved the email and sent me the details of the keylock. I expect that 99% of travelers use the internet but there are still some that don't. An email the day before arrival would be helpful. I knew that the room was on about the 4th floor so I realised that I'd be climbing a lot of steps. 99 in total. Glad I was travelling without a suitcase :~)

Pros: We recommend the Vietnamese noodle place just bellow the apartment!

Cons: There is breakfast at a close restaurant, which offers this service to several accommodations. It is a great place, but we got food poisoning from there (we are quite certain it was from there as another colleague got it too and it was the only shared place where all of us ate that day).

Great location, outstanding breakfast in a nearby cafe

Pros: Great location, outstanding breakfast in a nearby cafe! The place is just across the road from Jagello University. In walking distance there are several restaurants and cafes. The best thing: the breakfast is served in a nearby Cafe and it's worth every penny! It was one of the best breakfasts I ever had abroad. If you have the opportunity, definitely book and choose the option to have breakfast here!

Cons: The apartment is on the 4th floor and there is no lift.

Perfect location and place but noisy

Pros: Location is perfect to stay. It’s near to everywhere. Clean and well decorated. Host is responsive and trying to do everything within her power. But the place is noisy and you feel tram moves at night so it avoid you to get comfortable sleep.

Comfortable for a short stay

Pros: The breakfast at nearby cafe was delicious. Room was comfortable and clean.

Cons: It’s not very soundproofed so could hear guests coming and going. Also the self-check in process was a bit confusing

Great stay

Pros: It was close to the old square and the breakfast at the restaurant was really good also did takeout breakfast for us when we had a trip booked was really good

Cons: Only the steps 100 up to top floor with suitcases it’s hard but doable

Good location, good services, large and comfortable room.

Pros: The appartments are located near Collegium Novum, on the edge of the old town and a 10 minute walk away from Wawel (and my room was quiet). So it's relatively easy to get to anywhere you like, even if the Kazimierz is a bit farther away. There's a good coffee machine in the common area that we are free to use at any time, with a good supply of coffee (and tea). The breakfast is outsourced to a nearby restaurant, who serve quality stuff, with a wide choice. There's also a kitchenette in the room, so one can cook a bit if needed. The bathroom was small but clean and functional. So all my needs were served.

Cons: It's a fourth floor walkup, and the floors are tall... so make sure you haven't forgotten to buy anything before going back to your room! Also, I saw a member of the staff once in 4 days, and she was very helpful, but the whole thing is a bit dehumanized, I guess it's the way of the world these days.

Good but could be better

Pros: Good location near old town, restaurants & tram/bus stop Very quiet room (see more on this below) at the back of the building which was good Excellent wifi Comfortable bed (but terrible pillow) Hot shower The stairs didn’t bother me Breakfast was good. Huge serves depending on your choice.

Cons: Too noisy to begin with so I turned the fridge off. I didn’t need it. The 2nd noise was intermittent & took some figuring out. It was an air freshener sprayer that sprayed every 10-15 minutes or so. During the night it got put outside the front door. I couldn’t figure out how to turn it off Coffee at breakfast was served cold 3 of the 4 mornings I was there Breakfast was at a cafe 100m away. Not good if a rainy day Expensive (but that’s Krakow it seems)

Fantastic stay in an old building

Pros: Really awesome room and location (so long as you can handle the stairs) with a view of the university and park. The old town proper is just a five minute walk. Perfectly clean and comfortable. You won't see the staff but they were helpful and communicated well. Everything's done with keys in code-locked lockboxes. The room shakes a little when the tram goes past - it's a really old building - but it didn't affect my sleep at all. Kind of a novelty really.

Cons: The breakfast was at a very nice café and easy to get, but the options were limited and not to my taste.
